Pastor Jim Abrams joined our staff as Lead Pastor in November 2020. He studied religion and christian ministry at Eastern Nazarene College and Nazarene Theological Seminary. Raised in southern New Hampshire, Pastor Jim is a native New Englander who loves the outdoors, a good book, and a thoughtful conversation. He and his wife Becky have a wonderful marriage of 26 years. Together they have two pretty stellar children, Grace and Micah.
Rev. David Restrick joined our staff in July 2014. David along with his wife, Rhoda served as a global missionary with the Church of the Nazarene. They were assigned to the country of Mozambique as academic dean and professor of the Seminário Nazareno em Mozambique. Before his service in Mozambique, David and Rhoda served at a small Bible college in South Africa. David also served as pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Weston-super-Mare, England, for three years. An ordained Elder, David holds a Doctorate of Theology from Boston University, Masters of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and a Bachelors in Xcience in Biology from Eastern Nazarene College. David serves our congregation with pastoral ministries and care.
Pastor Kayla Kish is a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College and was recently ordained in June of 2022. She has been serving at South Weymouth for the past five years and serves as the Associate Pastor of Families and Discipleship. She loves being able to serve and love our children, youth, college students and partner with our wonderful volunteers on Small Groups and Life Groups. Kayla is passionate about journeying with people to live a life completely surrendered to Jesus. She is especially passionate about serving and working with young people as they grow closer to Jesus and fall more in love with Him. Kayla, her husband Sam and her two little one’s love being a part of SWN and hope you feel just at home as they do!
Ben Neil is the worship director at South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene. Ben’s first experience on a worship team was at Maranatha Christian Church in VT when he was just 15 years old. He has been participating in or leading worship teams ever since. Ben finds strength and healing in Jesus through music . Ben loves to provide the opportunity for others to come and experience God’s loving grace through worship. Ben has a Bachelors of Arts in Social Work with a Minor in Music from Eastern Nazarene College. Ben believes that God is with us through our entire lives and continues to work on bringing us to where we are today. Ben would like to see God glorified as He continues to bring us closer to completion with Him through music.
Sharyn Burden took the position of Administrative Assistant in March 2020. She thought she was retired from her two previous jobs of Early Childhood Educator for Hingham Public Schools and Assistant Program Director for Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore, when God continued her adventure with Him and placed her in our church office where she continues to use her organizational skills. Sharyn also enjoys being a member of the worship team, playing the piano in worship!
